Baseball New Zealand is pleased to announce that two coaches from the San Diego Padres will be visiting New Zealand this October to participate in a Baseball Tour of New Zealand.

The San Diego  Padres coaches  Brian Burres and Johnathan Mathews will start their Baseball Tour by engaging with our National U18 Squad in an intimate training environment, providing invaluable insights and expertise in hitting and pitching, within the National Showcase event.  This collaboration will offer our U18 players an exceptional opportunity to learn directly from some of the best coaches in the world, enhancing their skills and understanding of the game.

Moreover, our U18 National Coaches will benefit from this mentorship, gaining fresh perspectives and techniques that can elevate their coaching strategies.

As part of this initiative, they will embark on a nationwide tour across New Zealand, sharing their knowledge and fostering a deeper connection with the sport. 

Baseball Tour Highlights:

• National Showcase: 26th - 28th October, Auckland (This is a closed opportunity, National U18 Squad)
• Pitching and Hitting Clinics: These clinics will be aimed at players 11 - 15 years old from our community Club Baseball teams (This is an open community opportunity)
• Coaching Master Classes: In-depth sessions aimed at how to coach Hitting and Pitching to our youth athletes. (This is an open community opportunity)
